The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) announced a temporary amnesty program that will allow businesses in Washington, DC to come into compliance with DC’s business licensing requirements.
Under the program, all businesses operating without a business license, or with a recently expired license, will not be charged late fees to bring their business into compliance. The amnesty program will allow businesses to come into compliance without facing $2,000 fines.
The DCRA amnesty program will also cover expired or missing corporate filings and registrations.
Mayor Vincent Gray commented, “This temporary amnesty program is an opportunity for businesses to come into compliance with the District’s business license and corporations laws without facing significant fines and penalties.”
The amnesty program only runs from November 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012, so it important to take advantage of this opportunity now.
