Dangerous Lead Exposure from KZH Bathroom Faucets Sold on Amazon

KZH brand bathroom faucets have been found by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to contain dangerous levels of lead. The CPSC has issued a public warning, urging consumers to immediately stop using these faucets due to the serious health risks they pose, particularly to young children.

The CPSC Warning

According to the CPSC’s findings, KZH brand bathroom faucets, sold on Amazon.com by the seller “Yajie Sanitaryware,” were tested and found to contain and leach significant amounts of lead and other contaminants into the water. The CPSC issued this warning after the manufacturer, Ruianshi Yajieweiyujiejuyouxiangongsi of China, refused to agree to a voluntary recall.

Lead exposure, especially in children, can have devastating and irreversible health consequences. The CPSC highlights that lead poisoning can lead to neurological problems, including attention-related behavioral issues, decreased cognitive performance, and a lower IQ. The presence of lead in a product designed to deliver drinking and washing water represents a serious breach of consumer trust and a significant public health hazard.

What You Should Do If You Purchased a KZH Faucet

If you have purchased a KZH brand bathroom faucet from Amazon, the CPSC advises that you stop using it immediately and dispose of it. If you cannot replace it right away, the CPSC recommends running the water for 15 seconds before using it, but this is a temporary measure and does not eliminate the risk.
